Honfleur, La Basse Normandie 14600

At the gates of Honfleur, a few minutes from the coast of the Côte Fleurie, two hours from Paris. 18Th-Century pleasure pavilion, listed as a Historic Monument, with a view of Honfleur and the Seine estuary. Approximately 220 m² on the ground floor, on a fenced park of about 1.5 hectares. An entrance room leads to the open kitchen, dining room, and the large listed living room. Three bedrooms, each with a shower or bathroom, laundry room, and cellars. All around, a trained and wooded espalier garden. Built in the second half of the 18th century, the pavilion is named after the tradition that it was adapted to serve as a stopover for Queen Marie-Antoinette. The main body of the house and the decoration of the living room are listed as a Historic Monument (order of August 17, 1945). The house was last century that of Lucie Delarue-Mardrus, poetess, novelist, and painter, a figure of Norman literary heritage. The living room is its heart: period woodwork, built-in cupboards, and fireplace, all of rare integrity, testament to the decorative refinement of the Enlightenment.
